October 2024 SASSA Payment Dates: Millions of South Africans, particularly the senior citizens, the disabled, and children, still rely heavily on the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) for financial support. Beneficiaries depend on these subsidies to cover their daily expenses as each month goes by, so it is important that they are aware of when payments are due. The payment dates for the Older Persons Grant, Disability Grant, and Childcare Grant for October 2024 have been released by SASSA.

Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana declared that October will see the second and last boost in SASSA grant payments for the year and this will come on effect from October 1st, 2024. The EV Portal details which SASSA beneficiaries can expect hike next week, even if not all of them will receive this year. Grants for the senior citizens, disabled, veterans of war, and those in need of care increased by R90 in April and will rise by a further R10 in May. October will see no increase in the Foster Care and Child Support grants, which increased by R50 and R20 in April, respectively.

Eligibility for SASSA Payments

  • For the Disability Grants the applicants with disabilities, regardless of age, who are medically unable to conduct necessary job are eligible.
